Updates
Release notes for Guitamania, newest first.
v1.5.0 — Shapes that link up the neck
- Full neck page: Scales and Arpeggios gain shapes that link across neighboring CAGED shapes, not only inside a single one.
- New shapes in the Explorer: sweep shapes for Arpeggios and 3NPS shapes for seven-note scales.
- Search without accents: Vietnamese typed without accents finds the same scales and chords.
- Screen stays on: while you study a shape in the Explorer, CAGED and Full neck.
v1.4.0 — Real drum grooves, easier CAGED
- Easier detail and CAGED screens: pick a CAGED shape by tapping the letter beside each window, and every detail screen shares one bottom row.
- Real drums in the Metronome: 18 grooves sampled from a real drum kit, three click sounds, and louder output.
- Japanese, Korean and Thai: three new languages, plus lighter Library and Tools hubs.
- Library fixes: all five major pentatonic modes and a correct alt7. Works 100% offline.
v1.3.1 — What's New in v1.3.1
- 43 arpeggio types: the Arpeggio library grows from 9 to 43 types in five groups, with search in the Type sheet and CAGED shapes throughout.
- Two new chords: m add11 and maj7sus4 join the library, and every chord opens on the easiest shape within three frets of the lowest.
- Saving, reworked: the confirmation carries View and Undo, and the library hub has a Saved row with counts.
- One color language across every screen, and a clearer metronome beat. Works 100% offline.
v1.3.0 — What's New in v1.3.0
- One layout for every library: Chords, Arpeggios, Scales and Triads now share a screen. Root and Type on top, shapes and Play at the bottom. You can save triads too.
- The CAGED System for Triads: open the long neck from any triad. In Scales and Arpeggios, All shows all five shapes at once.
- New metronome: a bigger ring with tap tempo inside it and Start at the bottom. Smooth on 120 Hz phones.
- Reopen the app and you're back where you left off. Works 100% offline.
v1.2.1 — What's New in v1.2.1
· Now on Google Play — the same release on Android and iOS
- The CAGED System: All five CAGED shapes on a long neck for Chords, Scales and Arpeggios — real grips with finger numbers, plus Listen for one shape or the whole neck.
- Sharper Tuner: The in-tune chime now answers every pluck, and one bubble on the needle shows offset and direction, replacing the LOW and HIGH lamps.
- Fixes: Vietnamese mic prompt on iOS, and bottom buttons no longer hidden by the navigation bar.
- 100% offline capability retained.
v1.0.1 — Chord library rebuilt
- 696 chords, up from 540 — 13 new chord qualities.
- One shape per position, listed as a walk up the neck instead of an arbitrary order.
- Shapes are named after the bass string they actually sound: an open C5 played x-x-x-0-1-3 is now called C5/G.
- Over 1,000 extra cards for inversions you get for free, where your hand already mutes the low strings.
- Fingerings rewritten around how a hand really sits: 82.5% agreement with the chords-db reference, up from 62%, and only one shape left unfingered.
- Difficulty labels hidden for now — hand-scoring showed the model is not right often enough to stamp Easy or Hard on every card.
- Fixed: barres no longer drawn over muted strings.
v1.0.0 — First release
- 540 chords with finger positions, the notes inside and alternate voicings.
- 52 triads per string set and inversion, 108 arpeggios in every position.
- 324 scales and modes, filtered by root note.
- Tuner with auto detection or manual string-by-string, standard through drop and open tunings.
- Metronome from 20 to 240 BPM with time signatures, accented beats and tap tempo.
- Interactive circle of fifths with signatures, relative minors and diatonic chords.
- Light and dark themes, English and Vietnamese, left-handed mode.
- Everything works offline. No account, no ads, no analytics.
