PRS Tekton family launches with four electric guitars
PRS unveiled the Tekton family on 20 October 2026, with four electric guitars aimed at technical modern players. The lineup covers hardtail, two point tremolo, Floyd Rose, and seven string configurations.
Four models built for speed
- The six string Tekton has a hardtail bridge, while the Tekton T uses a PRS two point tremolo. The Tekton Floyd has a Floyd Rose vibrato, and the seven string Tekton SVN uses a string through body hardtail.
- The thin carved body sits between PRS Custom 24 and Vela shapes. It has a large belly carve and a heavily sculpted neck heel.
- Each model has a bolt-on maple neck with PRS's thinnest standard production neck profile. The six string neck has a thin D profile and satin nitro finish.
- The Indian ebony fretboard has a 16 inch radius, offset dot inlays, Luminlay side dots, and 24 jumbo stainless steel frets. These are the first standard PRS models with that fretboard radius and fret material.
- The six string guitars use a 25.5 inch scale length. The Tekton SVN extends that to 26.5 inches.
- String spacing matches the slightly wider layout used on the Silver Sky and Fiore. PRS says it supports sweep picking, arpeggios, and precise pick attack.
- Hormigo strength rods reinforce the necks. The Tekton, Tekton T, and Tekton SVN pair mahogany backs with figured mango tops, while the Tekton Floyd has an alder body.
- The Tekton and Tekton T have Phase III locking tuners and a proprietary composite nut.
Stylus pickups for digital rigs
All four models use newly developed Stylus humbuckers with Alnico 5 magnets. These medium output pickups have a relatively flat response and are voiced for digital rigs and tube amplifiers. Controls comprise a three way selector, volume and tone knobs, plus push-pull coil splitting.
PRS says the pickups retain note definition under high gain. A review of the Tekton T also found strong separation between strings.
Prices start at $2,899
The Tekton and Tekton T list for $2,899, while the Tekton Floyd and Tekton SVN cost $2,999. Corresponding reported figures are £2,899 and £2,999, and every model includes a PRS Premium gig bag.
