Fender launched its overhauled, Corona built American Professional range on October 15, 2026, led by new single coil guitars with the passive Silent System. The company positioned the range as its biggest release and top priority of the year.

Updates and lower prices

The Stratocaster and Telecaster each cost $100 less than their American Professional II predecessors, with the wider range priced at roughly $1,799 to $2,000. The Jazzmaster and Jaguar receive a Custom Shop derived J Bridge, while both offset models are available in Oxblood finishes. Fender also fitted in house volume and tone pots with a consistent taper, adjusted pickup pole piece positions to improve string to string balance, and revised the bridges to address longstanding player complaints. The Silent System was previously trialed in limited run American Classic Professional Stratocasters and Telecasters. It places a large dummy coil beneath the pickguard and requires no battery or extra battery cavity. Fender says the coil's size, shape, and wire type are central to its operation. The design aims to reduce hum while retaining the high end, pick response, and transparency of true single coil pickups. Fender introduced new quality control processes at its Corona facility before the launch. Review models were still in transit when the range was announced.

What players get

The lower Stratocaster and Telecaster prices reduce the cost compared with the previous American Professional II models. More importantly, the Silent System tackles single coil hum without replacing the pickups or adding a battery. Players also get changes aimed at practical concerns, including improved string balance, consistent control response, and revised bridges. The new quality control processes will matter as review models arrive and the production guitars receive closer examination.
