Jackson unveils limited edition Legend Series recreations

Jackson unveiled its limited edition Legend Series on October 14, 2026, with recreations of instruments associated with Randy Rhoads, Scott Ian, Marty Friedman and David Ellefson. Jackson said the four musicians helped define the brand and push heavy music forward.

Details
The Randy Rhoads CD1 recreates the white and gold asymmetrical Concorde V that Rhoads developed with Grover Jackson in 1980. It has an alder body, a bound ebony fingerboard with a 12 to 16 inch compound radius, Seymour Duncan JB and ’59 humbuckers, and a six saddle tremolo with a whammy bar. Rhoads’ sister Kathy Rhoads D’Argenzio said the family was pleased to see the model return.
The Scott Ian RR22 revives Ian’s single pickup Rhoads guitar with its NOT graphics. Its specifications include an alder body, maple neck through construction, a Seymour Duncan TB 4 bridge trembucker, and a top mounted Floyd Rose 1000 Series tremolo. The recreated graphic changes the original NYHC sticker to NYSI. Ian said the original appeared on every Anthrax record and was his main guitar for the first five albums.
The Marty Friedman KE 1 recalls Friedman’s Jackson Kelly signature model from the late 1990s. It combines an alder Kelly body, a three piece maple neck, an ebony fingerboard, one Seymour Duncan JB bridge pickup, and a fixed Kahler 7330 bridge. Friedman said the KE 1 reflected living his dream and his goal of creating a heavy metal guitar.
The David Ellefson CB V Concert Bass recreates Jackson’s first five string bass, built for Ellefson in 1990. It has an alder body, a three piece through body maple neck, an ebony fingerboard, EMG 40DC and CS pickups, a three band EQ, a Jackson HiMass bridge, and Hipshot tuners. Ellefson said his Concert basses suited his aggressive playing style.

Why these recreations matter to guitar players
The four models document distinct approaches to heavy music instruments. Players can compare dual humbuckers with single pickup layouts, Floyd Rose and Kahler hardware with a six saddle tremolo, and guitar specifications with Ellefson’s active five string bass configuration. Each recreation also retains visual or structural details tied to the original artist instrument.
