Joe Bonamassa Seeks Josh Smith's Missing Two-Rock Amp
Joe Bonamassa used Instagram on October 26, 2026, to ask the public for help finding blues guitarist Josh Smith's missing Two-Rock amp head. The equipment belongs to Smith and was last seen at a WDR Big Band gig in Cologne, Germany, before Bonamassa brought the search to his followers.

Black case marked JS
The amplifier head is housed in a black Two-Rock road case with the letters “JS” stenciled on it. Those markings are the main identifying details given in the appeal, which asks for the equipment's safe return. The case description gives two points to check together: the Two-Rock name and Smith's initials. Bonamassa said a “generous reward” is available for its return. Smith is a Grammy nominated blues guitarist and a key member of Bonamassa's live band. He often works as the second guitarist in that lineup, placing his Two-Rock gear within Bonamassa's touring operation. Bonamassa has seen a public gear search succeed before. In 2021, he appealed for help after fearing that his Fender Nocaster, known as “The Bludgeon,” had gone missing in transit. The guitar was found safe within days. It was identified as a Fender Custom Shop 1951 #6 Nocaster, and Bonamassa said it returned within two days of his post. By then, it had spent two weeks in what he called “brackish custodial custody.” That recovery followed the same approach now being used for Smith's amp: publish a description and ask others to report what they know. Anyone with a helpful lead about the missing amp head is asked to email [email protected].
