The guitar has an Olympic White alder body and a maple neck with a modern C profile. Its 22 fret rosewood fretboard has a 9.5 inch radius, rolled edges and pearloid block inlays. At the bridge, Fender fitted a Seymour Duncan JB TB 4 humbucker with zebra style bobbins. A Player Series Alnico V P 90 sits in the neck position. The hardware combines a Jazzmaster bridge and floating tremolo with Mustang saddles. Gordon said guitar technician Salar Rajabnik played a central role during the lengthy development process and conducted extensive research for the project. She also said the model took a long time to develop, with Fender eventually agreeing to the Seymour Duncan pickup choice. Gordon described guitar as a tool for producing unusual noise and said she finds dissonant music freeing. Fender Chief Product Officer Justin Norvell said the design was intended to reflect her individuality and experimental work while retaining the character and feel of a Jazzmaster. The limited edition Kim Gordon Jazzmaster is available for $1,099.99, £1,449 or €1,699.
